Zero Traffic Deaths and Serious Injuries
The Town of Brookhaven has developed a Vision Zero Action Plan to eliminate roadway-related fatalities and serious injuries on Town-owned roads. Guided by data analysis and community input, the Plan provides targeted recommendations and strategies to improve safety to the transportation system.
The goal is to end traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries by 2045, creating a safer, healthier, and more connected community.
The Action Plan analyzed roadway characteristics, crash history, traffic patterns, and demographic data to identify key factors impacting safety. Community engagement played a crucial role in understanding safety concerns from road users and ensured that strategies are equitable and effective. This Plan was made available in June 2025.
